Question

I am the custodial parent, my daughter see her dad every other weekend, per the parenting time court order, I've been offered a new job in FL so the court approved me to relocate with my child. I've decided I'd like her to stay behind living in my home w/ my parents until Decem so she can finish the school semester & she can just continue to see her dad every other weekend. The father says that if she stays behind, when my parents drop her off at his house for visitation hes going to keep her until December because he wants her to live with him, is this legal can he do this? Its not best for her

Answer

If you told the court she was moving with you, that's what you need to do, even if in the middle of a semester.
