Question

My husband wants to delegate someone I don't know to pick up kids when he can't. I have no idea who this person is. He says I have to let her or I will be interfering with his rights. This person is not family. In the paperwork it says he can designate a capable adult if applicable. Do I hand them off to a stranger?

Answer

Yes. Unless you can determine that this person is NOT capable, you have to let him have the children, if you can verify that this person is in fact the one that your husband "designated."

Go ahead and ask to look at this person's driver's license. Take down the number, and then check him out online (tell him that you're doing this). And take a photo of him too, while you're at it.
