We recently moved into an apartment. The previous tenant moved out 9 days before their lease was up. We moved in 2 days later, landlord gave us key and we signed lease etc. The previous tenant is trying to threaten to sue us saying we owe them 9 days rent, even though there was no written or verbal agreement between us. Can we get sued?
