Hi my father was killed by the parish police department in 1994 I know that Louisiana statute of limitation is one year . But is there anyway I can sue them now I was a child wen it happen and my mother was married to him but they was separated she got and in state lawyer who said we had a good case he waited untill the day before the one year to say he could not take the case and never filled anything so it was to late for her to get another lawyer can I sue him
