How did the entertainment industry affect the economy?
In our modern era, the entertainment industry has always a very noticeable influence on the economy. To cite several examples: If people are not buying or renting videos or going to movies, that impacts the companies that own theaters, those who sell/rent videos, as well as the film-making industry itself, since film-makers often go on location to different cities to make movies, which pumps dollars into the local economy. Entertainers (singers, dancers, comedians) go out on tour, and if people don't buy tickets, that affects the owners of the venues, the concert promoters, the people who sell food and drinks and souvenirs at the venues, etc.
